Sync & Data Issues
Sync & Data Issues
PT Tracker stores your data locally on your device and syncs it to the cloud when a connection is available. If something isn’t showing up where you expect, this guide will help.
Workouts or meals not syncing
- Check your internet connection — Sync requires either Wi-Fi or mobile data. Open a browser and load any webpage to confirm you’re online.
- Look for the sync indicator — A small icon in the app shows your current sync status. If it shows a warning, tap it for details.
- Force a manual sync — Go to Settings > Data > Sync Now to trigger an immediate sync.
- Wait a moment — After logging data offline, the app queues changes and syncs them when connectivity returns. This usually happens within seconds, but can take up to a minute on slow connections.
Missing workouts or nutrition entries
If data you’ve logged has disappeared:
- Check you’re signed into the correct account — Go to Settings > Account and verify your email address. Logging into a different account is the most common cause of “missing” data.
- Check the date — Entries are grouped by date. Make sure you’re looking at the right day or week.
- Check the sync indicator — If data was logged offline and hasn’t synced yet, it may not appear on other devices until sync completes.
Data conflicts between devices
When you log data on two devices before either has synced, a conflict can occur. PT Tracker resolves conflicts automatically using these rules:
- Most recent edit wins — The entry with the latest timestamp is kept.
- No data is deleted — Conflicting entries are merged where possible. If a workout was edited on both devices, the most recently saved version takes priority.
You can review your sync history under Settings > Data > Sync Log to see exactly what was synced and when.
Restoring lost data
All synced data is backed up on our servers. If you believe data has been lost, contact us with your account email and a description of what’s missing. We can investigate and restore data from backups where possible.
