Dan Hutton

Founder and developer

“I’ve lost weight, achieved body recomposition, and I’m loving the app.”

That is the short version of my experience. I am also the founder and developer of PT Tracker. It is the lived experience behind the product and the reason I care about making fitness tracking more useful.

What does body recomposition mean to you?

For me, body recomposition has meant improving the balance between body fat and muscle rather than treating scale weight as the only measure of progress. Losing weight mattered, but so did how I trained, how I ate, and whether the habits were sustainable.

As this interview develops, I will add exact milestones, timelines, and progress context so the practical details are useful to people working towards similar goals.

How did that experience shape PT Tracker?

My experience reinforced how connected training and nutrition are. A workout log is more useful when it sits alongside nutrition, bodyweight trends, programmes, and the wider context of what you are trying to achieve.

That is the principle behind PT Tracker: bring the parts of a fitness journey together so you can see patterns and make the next sensible decision without juggling several disconnected apps.

Why tell the founder story now?

Fitness marketing is full of polished transformations with very little context. I want PT Tracker to take a more useful approach. We will publish genuine stories when people have given permission, and we will clearly label founder, partner, customer, stock, and AI-generated material.

My story is the first one because it is the account I can stand behind today. As the community grows, this section will expand through documented interviews with people using the app in different ways.

What is the next chapter?

The work is ongoing. I am continuing to use the app, improve it, and learn from what makes tracking easier or harder in real life. Future updates to this interview can add exact milestones, favourite features, and screenshots once those details are documented carefully.

Individual fitness outcomes vary with training, nutrition, sleep, health, starting point, and consistency. PT Tracker helps people record and understand their activity; it does not guarantee a particular result.
